Perpetually yet always subtly different, every new interpretation of the Mille Miglia Collection reflects the codes of masculine elegance. It features refinement applied to all areas and highlights a love of fine mechanics. All are characterised by three technical pillars—legibility, precision, and grip—representing tokens of optimal racing performance.
For the 2024 model, Chopard celebrates its ambassador Jacky Ickx with the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph JX7. This model is the seventh collaboration between Jacky Ickx and Chopard and was inspired by Mr. Le Mans iconic helmet.
The watch case measures 40.5mm in diameter and 12.88mm in thickness, with a water resistance of 50 meters. The chronograph pushers feature a knurled design, reminiscent of brake pedals, while the large notched crown is decorated with a vintage steering wheel motif.
In the bi-colour version, the bezel, crown, and pushers are made from ethical yellow gold, enhancing the watch’s luxurious appeal. A box-style sapphire crystal completes the case, adding to the timepiece’s vintage aesthetic.
This watch features a midnight blue lacquer dial that comes with a circular satin finish and a black tachymeter scale on a silvery-white flange alongside a minute/second track with white markings. The dots that indices at 3, 6, and 9 are made with Grade X1 Super-LumiNova to allow good readability in any light conditions.
In the center of the chronograph’s second hand lies a red Mille Miglia logo that really catches the eye. The baton-type hour and minute hands are rhodium-plated and coated with Super-LumiNova. To balance the dial layout, there’s a small date window positioned at 4:30. The 6 and 24 numbers of the date window are red as a tribute to Jacky Ickx’s six victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The caseback has something interesting, there’s Jacky Ickx’s midnight blue “owl” two-window helmet and the words ‘Time Attack’ and the legend’s name printed on the sapphire crystal. The homage is also given to the race with a rubber strap that comes with a Dunlop pattern.
