For the first time in the history of Hublot, they have imagined and designed the Big Bang Unico Essential Grey limited edition solely to be sold online. In doing so, they emphasize how important e-commerce has become in this world. All the fans, collectors, and potential clients now have an equal chance to obtain this magnificent and rare new model.
Thanks to its perfectly monochrome and satin-finished look, the new Big Bang Unico Essential Grey magnifies the unmistakable design of the original model.
The case of this new model is made of titanium, which is a lightweight metal. The watch has a 42 mm diameter and a 14.5 mm height. The case back on the rear gives a glimpse of the mechanics, and here is also where the limitation number is located. This watch can withstand 100 metres or 10 bars of water pressure.
The monotone design of the Big Bang Unico Essential Grey is carried over to the front. Through the sapphire crystal, the applied indices and numerals are visible, but what most clearly shows is the mechanism.
The huge main hands, which display the time, are coated with lume to make them visible in the dark. A 60-minute totalizer is located across from the little seconds at 3 o’clock and at 9 o’clock. The date window is integrated into the small second counters.
The Big Bang Unico Essential Grey is powered by the HUB1280 manufacture calibre. The movement has 354 parts and 42 jewels on top of the internal base. It has automated winding and a 72-hour power reserve. Both a column wheel and a horizontal double clutch are included in the chronograph.
The timepiece also features a flyback feature. This enables the timer to be reset with the push of a single button. The manufacturer holds back on finishing in favour of a look. The movement does feature matte surfaces and a rotor that has been skeletonised.
This unisex watch is enhanced by the versatility of the two straps supplied in the Big Bang Unico Essential Grey presentation box. The first is a grey-lined rubber strap, and the second comes with a Velcro fastening, a Swiss invention. Both are easily interchangeable thanks to Hublot’s patented One Click system.
Just 200 pieces of the Big Bang Unico Essential Grey, instantly recognisable by its monochrome metal-grey appearance, will be produced. This limited edition is only available online at hublot.com and will not be offered in stores. A future collector’s item!
