At Watches & Wonders Geneva 2025, IWC Schaffhausen unveils the latest addition to its iconic Ingenieur collection, a timepiece that seamlessly blends technical innovation with refined aesthetics. Inspired by Gérald Genta’s legendary 1976 design, this new release features an updated case construction, enhanced magnetic resistance, and meticulous finishing that elevates its industrial-chic appeal. With a perfect balance of heritage and modern engineering, the latest Ingenieur reaffirms IWC’s commitment to precision, durability, and timeless style.
Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41
IWC Schaffhausen introduces the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 at Watches and Wonders Geneva. It marks the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer’s first stainless steel model to combine the Gérald Genta-inspired Ingenieur design with the perpetual calendar developed by Kurt Klaus.
The 41-millimetre case, bezel, and bracelet are elaborately finished with satin-finished and polished surfaces. On the blue dial with its characteristic “Grid” pattern, three subdials display the date, day of the week, month, and perpetual moon phase. Rhodium-plated hands and metal markers filled with Super-LumiNova® ensure perfect legibility. The IWC-manufactured 82600 calibre with Pellaton winding system and ceramic components can be viewed through the sapphire glass case back.
Ingenieur Automatic 42 in black ceramic
It combines the Gérald Genta-derived integrated bracelet design with a full ceramic execution for the first time. To achieve a faithful ceramic translation of the emblematic design, the watch features an innovative multi-part ceramic case construction.
The model is also distinguished by a high level of detail in the finishing of its ceramic components, with a combination of satin-finishing, sandblasting, and polishing. The IWC-manufactured 82110 calibre with a Pellaton winding system, ceramic components, and a power reserve of 60 hours is visible through the tinted sapphire glass case back.
Ingenieur Automatic 40 in 18-carat 5N gold
IWC Schaffhausen presents the Ingenieur Automatic 40 in 18-carat 5N gold at Watches and Wonders Geneva.
The luxurious new automatic model combines a case and bracelet crafted entirely from this precious metal with a black “Grid” dial. It has been fitted with a transparent sapphire-glass case back, showcasing the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre with a power reserve of 120 hours. The movement is enhanced with circular Geneva stripes, blued screws, and a gold-plated oscillating weight.
Ingenieur Automatic 40
Limited to 1,000 pieces, this special edition takes inspiration from the watch worn by Sonny Hayes, the main character in Apple Original Film’s upcoming F1® THE MOVIE.
Portrayed by Brad Pitt, the veteran racing driver sports a customised version of the Ingenieur SL Reference 1832, reimagined with modern craftsmanship. The timepiece stands out with a dial in his signature green color, a nod to his racing persona, adding a distinctive and bold touch to the design.
With this new automatic model, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer complements its Ingenieur collection with three 35-millimetre versions. One model is crafted from 18-carat 5N gold featuring a gold-coloured dial, while two come in stainless steel with either a black or a silver-plated dial. The new Ingenieur Automatic 35 offers the same enhanced ergonomics and highly detailed finishing as the 40-millimetre version.
